INFLUENCE OF OCCUPATIONAL STATUS ON PATRONAGE AND CHOICE OF EYE CARE SERVICES: Preliminary experience at Giwa outreach eye clinic

Indecisive as defined by Microsoft Thesaurus as being inconclusive, not definite, unsure, uncertain and wavering.

Most of us do not decide on impulse or maybe sometimes we do depending on what kind of decision we have to make. There are those who study things well and analyze the situation before making a firm and final decision. This is maybe the reason why some have a hard time or it takes them a long time to get married, to choose a course to take, to get a job or pick a career and the like.

Some say being indecisive is not a good sign since it seems that one can’t make up his mind. They say it shows poor or weak judgment and leadership. On the other hand, some say it’s better to delay making a decision due to proper study so as to make a quality decision that one can be committed to than to immediately make a careless and hasty decision.

For whatever it is worth, I would like to share the idea of not going just for what is easy and available. We shouldn’t also be careless by going for what is unattainable as of the moment. Apparently, it is best for us to make a well thought of, well informed and most appropriate decision and action.

As what I usually say as my battle cry or my usual spiel, Para sa kauswagan sang Syudad sang Iloilo, UGYON Kabataang Ilonggo, UGYON Iloilo. Ilonggos are worth working and fighting for.

My victory in the 2007 elections was not just a victory of LEX Tupas but I would like to believe it is a victory of those who believe in change, progress, the strong voice of the youth, new ideas and that there is nothing impossible if one continues to believe

Plans can be made. Things can be prepared. Movements and organization can be done. It may be well thought of but timing is critical and winds or call of the times can be a game changer.

Some say the more we actively and aggressively go for something, the more it evades us. The more we don’t plan for something, sometimes it happens unexpectedly. For certain instances, things happen and we are asked to do something. An appropriate action to a call is expected. We may not want it or we may not yet be that confident to go for it but it is best that we ready ourselves to respond to the call of the times.

This situation can happen in our love lives, in our career and in other aspects of our lives.

Thus, it is best just like when we were much younger, let us be like boy scouts. As they say and what we said before, “laging handa” or always be prepared.

As what I usually say as my battlecry or usual spiel, "Para sa kauswagan sang Syudad sang Iloilo, UGYON Kabataang Ilonggo, UGYON Iloilo...Ilonggos are worth working and fighting for".

It takes so much strength, inspiration, willingness, selflessness and good character to make a sacrifice.

The first day of September was something that couldn’t be forgotten. My deepest condolence goes to Punong Ministro Erano Manalo, the leader of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), that passed away. He was the reason why INC was able to expand nationwide and internationally. He is well loved and respected by the people. He apparently offered his lifetime for Christ and for the spiritual life of the members of INC. On the same day, the ZTE Controversy was again heard by the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Philippine Senate. We saw the likes of Jun Lozada who seemingly gave up his “freedom” and “security” for the sake of the truth and the country that even affected the lives of his wife and children. The biggest surprise was in the political world when a very unexpected press conference and public declaration was made by Liberal Party President and then Standard Bearer of the LP for President Mar Roxas that he was giving way for Senator Noynoy’s Candidacy for President.

Senator Mar was preparing his run for the presidency since year 2007. He has even built his organization down to the grassroots level. He has been making his presence felt by going around the country, spending millions for his infomercials, and declaring his bid for the Presidency. Who would have thought he would ever sacrifice his personal ambitions especially that he has worked hard for it for such a long time already. He gave way for the sake of the party and for the country. I salute you Senator Mar. I am privileged to be his friend and to have a direct line with him. I am also proud that he is an Ilonggo. Astig gid ya ang Ilonggo. He has shown that it is about country first before self. He has now moved from being a politician to a statesman.

I hope and pray that politicians take the lead of Senator Roxas. In my case, I have said from the start unahun ko ang Syudad bag-o ang akun pinolitika kag kaugalingon. I will decide for what is best for the City.

As what I usually say as my battle cry or my usual spiel, Para sa kauswagan sang Syudad sang Iloilo, UGYON Kabataang Ilonggo, UGYON Iloilo. Ilonggos are worth working and fighting for.

I never go for passing or just acceptable. It’s not my style.

Would you want to be someone who’s just like everyone else and blend in or who stands out?

There is nothing wrong with hard work, perseverance, going for the best and perfection. Nothing might be perfect but as we try to reach it, at least, we come near it.

I’m sure some of us are impressed with those who go beyond what is expected. In marketing, it is about delighting the customer. It is about having things unexpected and being glad that the customer was well taken care of and thought of. Who wouldn’t want to feel special, important or pampered as a customer?

We admire and recognize the excellent. We even try to imitate it and find a way to know best practices.

Let us all work to go beyond our limitations. As they say in our local dialect, “Indi pwede and pwede lang. Masmaayu ang kampyon kag astig.”

As what I usually say as my battle cry or my usual spiel, Para sa kauswagan sang Syudad sang Iloilo, UGYON Kabataang Ilonggo, UGYON Iloilo. Ilonggos are worth working and fighting for.
