The first months of the New Year have been full of festivals. After Dinagyang Festival, Arevalo District Fiesta, Chinese New Year Celebration and the Jaro District Fiesta, it’s now time for the annual Paraw Regatta Festival.

The Paraw Regatta Festival is a sea festival with colorful sails. It is said to be a way of being thankful for a bountiful harvest from our seas and to recognize the need to protect our seas. I also believe that it is a way of recognizing the work of our fishermen and also for the young people to continue valuing our natural resources.

This February 22, let us witness the highlight of the said festival by the shores of Arevalo.

Let us work together to keep our seas clean and full of life. As we take care of our beautiful seas and our natural resources, we ascertain the future of our city and of the future of our city, the youth of Iloilo. Sail on Ilonggos! Truly, we can say that Iloilo City is living up to its title as the festival capital of the Philippines.

Para sa kauswagan sang Syudad sang Iloilo, UGYON Kabataang Ilonggo, UGYON Iloilo. Ilonggos are worth working and fighting for.
