New Year's Resolution and Wishes

It has been five months since I started this blog and today is a special day for this medium of communication since it's the new year 2009.
Every year, some or most of us make our resolutions. What we intend to improve, to do, to become or to remove. Apparently, this practice seems to be a symbol of renewal or a fresh start.
In my case, my new year's resolution is to be more patient. I have the habit of wanting things done now or immediately but for certain reasons or factors, there is a limitation in being able to do such. I have a good intention though of wanting things to be done today if it can ... So why wait for tomorrow?
For my wishes, dreams and hopes for this new year:
1. A more prosperous and blessed year for everyone especially for the women, elderly, people with disabilities, children and the youth
2. Iloilo City to be more economically vibrant
3. More quality time with my family and closest friends
4. More energy and continued passion for public service
5. Continued warm support from the people of Iloilo City
6. A pretty, intelligent and understanding woman who will God willing be my partner in life
7. For me to be more financially competent to be able to bring more programs and projects that I personally finance to the people who need it the most in the City
8. Unity (UGYON) of people and sectors from various political affiliations for the good of the city (more reaching out)

I was talking to my friend about my hometown and I was telling her that our Governor has gorgeous sons and all are academic achievers in their fields. As I am so proud and eager to show the pics,I googled and stumbled to your blog.
You all look stunning in red as well as Tweety. It wasnt a disappointment and now I got the family pic.
Please continue leading Iloilo to be one of the most progressive provinces in the Philippines and may education and livelihood be one of your top priority in the future. Our province is so blessed with quality schools of various choices and we need to support them programs especially the elementary and secondary levels so our little ones wont be lagged behind.
God Bless you, your family and the whole Ilonggo people.

I hope you could have identified yourself so that I could properly say thank you. Anyway, although I am the son of the Provinical Governor, I am a City Official of Iloilo City which is a highly urbanized city, independent of the province and is a co-equal local government unit of the province. Basically, I am proud of my roots which can be traced from the Municipality of Barotac Viejo and the 5th Congressional District but I am not anymore a resident of the province since I have already transferred to the City. So, I couldn't vote for my dad and siblings and vice versa. Anyway, it's all good though. The City and Province are neighbors so it's easy to keep in touch with them.
I hope all is well with you.

Your reply is such a pleasant sight although I wasnt expecting my message to be posted on your blog. Thank you for the space!
Just call me Emmarose by the way.
I am your fellow Ilonggo and currently residing overseas and from time to time, I try to get news online about Iloilo. My family is from 4th district, and Ive been only visible in Iloilo a few times since 2003 after I finished school there.
I think your political location does not matter at all having your family line in service to both the City and the Province. Iloilo City being the melting pot for everyone is the best place to have beginnings.
Wish your family and the city a fun summer!
Cheers,
EM
